Peran Ganda Ibu Single Parent dalam Pendidikan Anak Pada Keluarga

Abstract

Single parenthood is a situation where a woman has two simultaneous roles, namely as a mother which is her main position and also as a father. This can occur due to separation or death. As a single parent, the responsibility continues to become greater because sometimes the father of the children is released from responsibility after a divorce so that a mother takes care of the children alone, working to meet the economic and educational needs of her children. The position and responsibility that single parents have to bear on themselves and their children continues to grow. The aim of this research is to find out the dual role of single parents in children's education in their families. This research uses qualitative methods and descriptive procedures. This study also has results that show that being a single parent is not an easy task to be a dual role and mother at the same time. So, when single parents have to divide their time, internal conflicts sometimes occur. The results of this research are that the dual role of single parents in education is: "mother as educator, mother as coach, mother as role model". Meanwhile, the dual role of single parents in the family is "mother to take care of the household and mother to earn a living for her children".
