Abstract

The role of the family is crucial in the growth and development of children. Parental involvement is not just a static process but lasts all the time and is very dynamic. In addition to parents, schools, children and the social environment also simultaneously play an essential role in this process. If circumstances in the family are conducive to the development and growth of the child, then the child will develop well. Conversely, if the family is not harmonious (broken home) or even often bickering between Father and Mother, then the family will not be able to become the first "school" useful for children. It is because the climate in the family is not pleasant anymore. The family is a significant and natural educational institution. The family is the smallest unit of a society of fathers, mothers and children. The family has an essential and strategic role in the development of a wider community. Parental involvement can help educators build self-esteem in children in instilling discipline and reducing life issues and raising awareness to learn. Therefore, the participation of parents in the education of children is something urgent implemented by the school. Programs that can be done by involving parents such as foundation class, parent gathering, attending parenting seminars, attending class activities and parent associations, home visits, present at the time of reporting, are present on the day of the consultation.
