Abstract

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to describe the cluster analysis for binary data using the single
linkage method, to determine the best type of car and to determine the consumption of foods
containing protein in several European countries using the single linkage method.
There are several stages in determining the cluster analysis, to determine the matrix of data,
transforming data in to binary data, determining the similarity matrix, the formation of clusters,
determine the number of clusters, interpret the clusters formed. association coefficients for use
similarity measure four variable of binary data. The results obtained on the selection of the best type
of car that is the type of car Toyota Corrola with economic characteristics, given good service, good
design, sporty, safe and comfortable although the price is a bit expensive. While the consumption of
