GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN PRAKTIK YANG MENYANGKUT PENGENDALIAN INFEKSI HEPATITIS B DARI PASIEN KE OPERATOR DI TEMPAT PRAKTIK DOKTER GIGI

Abstract

Background.Contagious disease is also called infectious disease is a disease caused by a biological agent such as a virus, bacterium or parasite. Hepatitis B is an infectious disease that occurs in the liver caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV), acute or chronic liver that can lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer and death. The dentist is a high-risk group are infected with HBV in their profession. Purpose.The purpose of this study is to describe the level of knowledge and practice with regard to control hepatitis B infection form patient to an operator in the dentist at Kediri and whether the working procedures established by dentists who practice independently in the region have been implemented at Kediri an optimally.Method.This study uses a non-random sampling method using accidental sampling technique that consists of 30 respondents. Research carried out by the level of knowledge of questionnaires by respondents which includes 10 question and to action (practice) is measured by filling the check list with 15 statements made by researchers through the observation of the respondents.Results.The results of the research to the level of knowledge of the 30 respondents that as many as 27 respondents (90%) have a high knowledge, 3 respondents (10%) had moderate knowledge, and not found respondents who have low knowledge. As for the action (practice) show the results of the 30 respondents that many as 20 respondents (66,6%) have a good action, and not found respondents who have a low action. Conclusion.The level of knowledge by dentists in Kediri against hepatitis infection control by 90% (high) of the total 30 respondents and the level hepatitis B infection control measures amounted to 66,6% (good) out of total 30 respondents.
