Abstract

Student career selection must be in accordance with their abilities. External factors that can influence career choice are family economic status. With this, students cannot determine their career choice planning because they think that their parents are unable to meet college needs, but there are also those who can determine their career choices but are prohibited by their parents and there are also those who want to continue higher education but are hampered by the family's economic situation. . The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the family economy on the career choices of class XII participants at SMA Negeri 1 Puding Besar. This study uses a type of associative quantitative research method. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire (questionnaire) and documentation. The results showed that the magnitude of the influence of the family economy on students' career choices was 3.2%, where the value of R square or the value of the coefficient of determination was 0.032 which was rounded up to 3.2%, and there was no influence between family economic variables on career selection variables. . This means that there is no influence between the family economy on the career choice of class XII students at SMA Negeri 1 Puding Besar.
